Whaiky story

Whaiky emerged as an idea in late 2019 upon recognizing the issue of high unemployment rates in Colombia. In this country, people possess numerous skills but struggle to find well-paying jobs that enable them to make ends meet.

This situation was particularly challenging because, even though individuals had skills, it was difficult for those in need of services to find whom to turn to. Thus, due to the lack of knowledge and job opportunities, the initial idea called Services Selling Company was born.

It comprised a website where users could register their information and be contacted by individuals interested in their services via Service Selling Company to provide the required service at their homes.

The challenge with this idea was that the founder of the initial project, Astrid Quesada, lacked the necessary resources and skills to make it work. Nevertheless, she tried. However, a few months later, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit Colombia, causing her idea to lose momentum.

Subsequently, in late 2020, Astrid decided to travel to Europe, specifically to Cyprus, where she realized that people had many skills but faced the same problem: there was no effective way for everyone to know who offered those services in their surroundings except through personal recommendations.

So, the idea resurfaced once more. Astrid chose to revive the project, now called Whaiky, and reached out to various groups but failed to find a suitable team. This led her to travel to Kiev, Ukraine, in early 2021, where she also couldn't find the opportunity to form a team.

After a few months, she moved to Austria where, with no resources, she started working at a restaurant in Vienna and began searching for a team online. However, she again faced failure. Desperate, she shared her idea and story with a waiter at the restaurant where they both worked, his name is SUMIYABAZAR CH, who had a team consisting of a developer  his name is GANGARIG  NYAMSUREN and one designer his name is MUMNHJARGAL BAYARSAINHPN.

Over time, this would lay the groundwork for what we now know as Whaiky, the mobile and web application.

Whaiky serves as an intermediary between two parties, referred to within the platform as users and contractors. Users encompass all those seeking a service, whether it's repair, remodeling, caregiving, aesthetic, social, events, etc. Contractors, on the other hand, are all those individuals with the aforementioned skills.

The aim of Whaiky is to become the most renowned service intermediary in the market, connecting with all those individuals in need of significant skills.

Whaiky isn't just another app; it's an opportunity to showcase your skills and find what you need. Whaiky is more than an app; it's a friend.
